Michigan Tech is dedicated to working with students who have taken, or will take, college classes at other institutions. Transfer credit is granted for appropriate courses completed off-campus with a grade of "C" or better. The following information will help you make the right choices on scheduling classes that will move you toward your degree.
Admissions ProceduresApplying is easy. You’ll need to submit an application for admission, as well as official copies of all high school and college transcripts. The transcripts need to be sent directly to Michigan Tech from each school. If you’ve earned an associate or higher degree at the time of application, you’re not required to submit a high school transcript.
Transfer students planning to enroll for the summer or fall semester are encouraged to apply by January 15 to receive priority consideration for admission, financial aid, and scholarships.
Applicants for the spring semester should apply as early as possible and at least 30 days before the start of the semester.
If you have international college or high school transcripts, you should apply at least 60 days before the start of the semester. International transfer students should work with the office of International Programs and Services to complete the application process.
