Campus Life

talentunity
(n, tal-en-TUNE-uh-tee)

When your talents combine with the amazing opportunities available at Michigan Tech; like getting a group of friends together to help with a service project for Make a Difference Day. Leadership in action. We do that.

Campus life is a huge part of the college experience and Michigan Tech students know how to put their “talentunity” to work. How else would we be able to set three world records in one day . . . all involving snow? Go ahead, check out Guinness for the details.

Here are a few ways our students get involved, stay active, and come to love Michigan Tech . . .

Join In
Join any of nearly 200 student organizations and participate, lead, shape, and change the face of Michigan Tech and the community. Whatever you’re into, there’s likely to be a group you’ll find a home with. Check out the list.

The Sound of Music
More than 1,000 students participate in music and fine arts. No music majors here, just students who have a love for the arts and want to keep them as part of their lives.

Go Greek
Join a sorority or fraternity. There are over 22 chapters to choose from.

Outdoor Adventure
Michigan Tech owns and operates Mont Ripley, our very own ski and snowboard hill, and Portage Lake Golf Course—both are just minutes from campus. Our world-class Tech Trails offer endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing. Lake Superior is just minutes away and Michigan Tech is on the the shores of the Keweenaw Waterway. Our Outdoor Adventure Program offers guided excursions, workshops, equipment rentals, and clinics.

Varsity Athletics
On the court, on the field, or on the ice, we get it done. The Michigan Tech Huskies play hard, give their all, and have a way of bringing students and the community together. Student admission to games is free! If you like to play, we have a great selection of intramural programs and club sport teams waiting for you.

Sure, our students are here to study, but they want to be involved outside the classroom, too. That’s how the Experience Tech initiative got started. For $64 per semester, students get unlimited access to Mont Ripley ski and snowboard hill, Portage Lake Golf Course, Gates Tennis Center, Department of Visual and Performing Arts events, hockey games, and intramural sports.

Get your “talentunity” on. Get involved, try something new, have fun, decompress, and make a difference.
