Applying to Michigan Tech can be a breeze—planning ahead helps. Here’s a checklist to keep you on track with the whole application thing.
Gotta Do List - we can’t make an admissions decision without these:
- Take the ACT and/or SAT and have your scores sent to us. Our ACT code is 2030; our SAT code is 1464.
- Apply free online! Or use a paper application (this is free too.) If you want priority consideration for admissions, financial aid, and scholarships—and we think you do—submit your application by January 15.
- Have your high school counselor send us an official copy of your transcript. Transfer students…if you've earned 30 or more college credits, you can skip this step.
- Print the High School Counselor Information page and have your counselor fill this out. Only first-year students need this one.
- Transfer students, have your official college transcript(s) sent directly to us from the college(s).
Should Do List – this is stuff that will really help you out:
- Learn more about us! Attend a college fair or school visit and talk with one of our admissions managers.
- Read what we send you in the mail and over email—it’s not a lot and it is important.
- Join us for an online chat night—we have several each year.
- Visit campus—colleges all look alike on the web and in those shiny brochures.
- Attend Open House—you’ll learn tons. Our next event is September 26, 2009.
- View the Campus Security Act Annual Report.
