When having the information you need makes completing your admissions application that much easier; like knowing that priority consideration for admission is given to students who apply by January 15. Helping to make a possibly overwhelming process not so overwhelming. We do that.

Go ahead . . . apply. After all, it’s free. Michigan Tech gets applications from smart and adventurous students across the country and around the world. We’d like to see your application as one of them.

Being “informicated” starts with knowing just what you need to do to stay on track . . .

  • Applying to Michigan Tech is free.
  • Priority consideration for admissions, financial aid, and scholarships is given to students who apply for admission by January 15.
  • For first-year applicants, we consider cumulative grade point average, American College Test (ACT) and/or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores, high school courses taken, and class rank (if available).
  • Transfer applicants must be in good standing at the college they last attended and meet transfer and course requirements for their desired major.
  • If you’re applying for admission to the Audio Production and Technology, Sound Design, Theatre and Electronic Media Performance, or Theatre and Entertainment Technology program, there are additional materials (including essay responses) that need to be submitted as part of the application process.
  • You'll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov to be considered for aid like grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.
