We offer more than 120 degree programs from which to choose. And we’re ranked 20th in the nation for the most engineering bachelor’s degrees awarded, and 16th in the nation for the most engineering bachelor’s degrees awarded to women.
Research
We’re ranked among the top 20 universities in the country in the proportion of research sponsored by industry, and undergraduates are strongly encouraged to participate in research with their professors. In fact, nearly 30 percent of our invention disclosures include students as inventors.
Admission Requirements
For first-year applicants, we consider grade point average, American College Test (ACT) scores and/or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores, high school courses taken, and class rank (if available).
Financial Assistance
About 87 percent of Michigan Tech students receive some form of financial assistance, totaling more than $49 million each year. And, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges 2007,” the average student attending Michigan Tech graduates with one of the lowest amounts of debt in the nation. A total of 42 percent of Michigan Tech graduates have no debt upon graduation.
Graduate Outcomes
No less than 97 percent of our students have jobs in their chosen field, enroll in graduate school, or enlist in the military by the time they graduate.
